Sriom Adisakthi Ashram was established by Sriom Adisakthiyendra Swamigal in Avaloor, India. In the year 1991 the foundation stone was laid for Sriom Pancha Sakthi Peetam. In the year 1993 the Kumbhabhishekam ceremony (sanctification ceremony by pouring holy water) was performed by the holy hands of Swamiji, Sriom Adisakthiyendra Swamigal.

“Sriom Pancha Sakthi Peetam” (Altar of five energies) and is the highly sacred shrine. Sriom Pancha Sakthi Peetam is enshrined integrating the sacred truths of Vedas and sayings of great sages, spiritual masters and monks of repute.
The foundation stone for the Peetam that the Ashram contains, called the Sriom Panchasakthi Peetam, was first laid in 1991 with the site consecrated in 1993 with a Kumbhabhishekam festival. The Peetam has been constructed in the form of the fort of Sriom Adisakthi, as seen by Swamiji in his meditation. The Vedas have always worshipped the five major elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Sky or space, which have been established in the Peeetam - the Five Sakthis (powers) or Pancha Sakthis as Mahalakshmi, Mahakali, Mahadurga, Gayathri and Lalitha respectively. The inner sanctum houses a Thrisoolam (trident) that is adorned and decorated daily for alankaram. On festival days, a lamp is used on which the alankaram is performed, to symbolizse the essence of the eternal omnipresent soul (Adi Sakthi), who is both within us, and in whom we reside. This unique aspect of Vilakku (Lamp) alankaram is not seen anywhere else in the world.

A person who is able to keep the five elements, represented by Pancha Sakthis and three gunas, namely Satva, Rajasa and Tamasa represented by Thrisoolam (Trident), in an equilibrium will realize himself/herself and merge with the ultimate energy or the energy that they worship. This is the essence of Pancha Sakthi Peetam.
The uniqueness of the sanctum sanctorum is, there are no idols installed there. Sriom Adisakthi has no form. In the morning, one can have Nirmalya Darshan with only Thrisoolam without any alankar. As the day progresses, one can see Thrisoolam decorated as Lord Siva on Mondays, Durga or Karthikeya on Tuesdays, Iyyappa on Wednesdays, Saraswathi on Thursdays, Mahalakshmi on Fridays, Maha Vishnu on Saturdays and Lord Ganesha and Jagadhadri Devi on Sundays. This satiates the needs of one who does not want any form and who wants to see God in the form he/she likes.

There are other Sannaidhis(temples) for Pancha Gurus, Dakshinamoorthi, Adi Vyasa, Sriom Devi, Anjaneya, Chakrathazhwar, Kamadenu, Mariamman, Maha Kali and Badra Kali.
