Sri Om Inc. is an NZ registered charitable organisation formed in 2006, keeping in mind, the words of President, Jagatguru, Sri Om Adisakthiyendra Swamiji, “Humanity leads Divinity”.
Sriomdevi is a new deity to this Earth. She took 18 births in different regions of this Earth. The significance of her birth represents bringing all cultures under one roof which envisions the motto “Humanity Leads Divinity”. Without Humanity, there is no Divinity. Ultimately, the divine power takes an incarnation (avatar) to prove Humanity to attain Divinity. If an individual follows the right path of Humanity (manusasthra) he will attain Divinity (which in ancient Hindu Vedic scriptures is mentioned as Aham Brahmasmin). Using this ideology the founder of Sriom Devi Temple, Sriom Gnanasakthiyendra Swamigal passed the idea for the construction of a Sriom Devi Temple in New Zealand.
The Sriomdevi temple will be constructed in a unique lotus shape, to circulate energy and release it into the Earth for peace, prosperity, welfare of all living beings and to deflect any evil and negative forces.
Currently the temple is housed in a small and modest 36sqm cabin inside a large barn. The primary significance of the temple is its location. Nestled in a rural setting, around 65 km from the center of Auckland city, the temple shares close proximity to the majestic ranges near Port Waikato and is a short distance from the Waikato River.
On average there are around 50+ poojas, havans and events taking place at the temple on an annual basis.
The main idol of the temple is Sriomdevi who sits in the center of the temple, surrounded by Sriom Swarana Kamala Nathan (Sriman Narayanan) and Sriom Swarana Kamala Lakshmi to her left and Sriom Jagadhadri (Sriom Maha Durga) to her right.Sriomdevi the main deity, has 18 avatars and each of these avatars have a significant and specific day, we celebrate as the day they were born into this Earth.
The Temple also has a separate sanctum for Goddess Maariamman, Ganesha and Lord Karuppuswamy.
